Troubles for Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayan after another quits

Indian cinema has produced several versions of the Indian Epic Ramayana. Ramayana has been making news ever since reports that Nitesh Tiwari and Madhu Mantena had plans to create a trilogy on the epic using the most cutting-edge technology. Nitesh Tiwari’s magnum opus, Ramayana, is currently the talk of the town due to its stellar casting.

Ranbir Kapoor will be seen as Ram, Sai Pallavi as Sita, Sunny Deol, and Yash will be seen as Lord Hanuman and Demon King Ravana. The upcoming project is said to be a magnum opus with its weaving of mythology and technology. However, recent developments have left fans curious about the film’s production.

Ramayana Crew Quits?

Initially, the project was co-produced by two prominent names: Madhu Mantena and Allu Aravind. However, recent reports reveal that Madhu Mantena has stepped back from his producer role in Ramayana. The reason behind his exit remains undisclosed. Given the massive budget allocated for this magnum opus, this has become a significant roadblock for Ranbir and Pallavi’s big project, as their collaboration hinted at a grand cinematic experience.

New Cast and Crew of Ramayan

According to the latest sources close to the film’s development, it is informed that Namit Malhotra, the CEO of DNEG—an Oscar-winning VFX company—will now be part of Ramayana’s production, with eight Oscars for films like Inception, Oppenheimer, E Machina, Interstellar, and First Man under its belt, including contributions to Dune, Blade Runner 2049, and Dune. DNEG brings unparalleled expertise to this epic saga.

Meanwhile, Vijay will no longer be a part of Ramayana, and Harman Baweja will play the role of Vibhishan. The filmmakers plan to announce the film grandly on April 17, i.e., on Ram Navami’s auspicious occasion. The epic saga is slated to release in cinemas as a trilogy.

The film’s first part is expected to be released in Diwali in 2025, and the rest of the two will follow. The last instalment will depict the epic war between Vaanar Sena and Ravana’s army and will conclude with Ravana’s defeat and Lord Ram’s triumphant return to Ayodhya with Sita.
