Pooja Bhatt discusses how star culture has taken over the internet. She stated that some OTT creators are returning to casting big celebrities first.

After 21 years, Pooja Bhatt has begun a new chapter in her acting career, which she credits to the OTT world.

Pooja claims that the media has provided her with a diverse canvas to explore, but she is concerned that star culture may take over the space.

Actress pooja said My father, filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt, released my debut film, Daddy, on Doordarshan. Despite being advised against it due to the negative stigma associated with television in Bollywood at the time, he decided to go ahead with the small screen release.

Overnight, Daddy carried me into people’s homes and hearts with the relevant subject. It established that the medium is not crucial, Pooja tells us.

The 52-year-old adds, “With the rise of OTT platforms, there are more opportunities for actors of various ages, body types, and backgrounds. When I first started, everything revolved around a hero, heroine, villain, and hero’s friend. Those lines have blurred totally, which is fantastic.”

Using her personal experience, she continues, “I came back after 21 years of not acting, and I got a character like Rani in Bombay Begums, who is close to my age.” She is a woman battling with menopause, marital troubles, and love. She is not coloured with a single brush. This OTT media allows you to explore deep and meaty characters. I’m just delighted to be a part of the change.”

Pooja Bhatt Ott debut
