Deepika Singh Suffers Eye Clot During Mangal Lakshmi Shoot

Actress Deepika Singh recently experienced an eye clot while filming for her ongoing TV show Mangal Lakshmi in Mumbai. The soaring temperatures across the country have made filming conditions tough, and Singh attributes her injury to the excessive heat and the use of glycerine.

Sudden Discomfort on Set

During a shoot, Deepika Singh felt something irritating in her eye. Her co-star noticed a red blood clot in her right eye, prompting immediate medical attention. “Within half an hour, I rushed for a doctor consultation and was put on medication -ointments and eye drops- immediately,” she shared.

Medical Advice and Precautions

The 34-year-old actress revealed that the doctor informed her the eye injury would take about five days to heal. “I have been advised not to strain my eyes and specifically not to use glycerine or any other eye product,” Singh stated. This advice has made filming particularly challenging given the number of crying scenes in her role.

Impact on Filming

Singh explained that her right eye is affected, so the production team is taking most of her shots from her left profile. “It’s hampering the shoot, but the show must go on,” she said, emphasizing the importance of continuing the production despite the setback.

Heat: The Major Culprit

Singh insists that the high temperatures have played a significant role in her current condition. “I have been shooting for so many years, and never faced such issues. I was shooting in Madh Island, and the temperature was soaring, so the body reacted to it,” she explained. The ongoing wedding track in the show requires her constant presence, making it difficult for her to take a break.

Coping with the Heat

To combat the heat, Singh has been focusing on a liquid diet, including coconut water, buttermilk, and electrolytes, while avoiding tea. “I am keeping my eyes closed whenever I am not in front of the camera. I am giving more affirmation to my eyes, and it has been a real ‘eye-opener’ for me,” she concluded.
