The trailer for Stree 2 picks up where the first film left off in 2018. The town of Chanderi is once again plagued by supernatural occurrences, but this time, it’s not the vengeful spirit known as ‘Stree.’ Instead, a new menace threatens the residents, and they must band together to face it. The ensemble cast includes Rajkummar Rao, Abhishek Banerjee, Pankaj Tripathi, and Aparshakti Khurana, all on a mission to combat this fresh terror. Tamannaah Bhatia also makes an appearance.

Pankaj Tripathi’s character, Rudra Bhaiya, introduces the town to the latest threat: ‘Sarkata,’ a headless monster. Shraddha Kapoor’s character, who was presumably the evil spirit in the prequel, steps in to protect Chanderi’s inhabitants. This time, they pray to Stree for safety, chanting, “O stree raksha karna,” instead of the previous plea, “O stree kal aana.”
A Perfect Blend of Chills and Laughter
The trailer masterfully balances spine-chilling visuals of Sarkata’s menacing head with witty one-liners. Tripathi’s Rudra Bhaiya humorously labels Sarkata as an influencer, suggesting that the monster is in Chanderi solely to gain followers.
Legacy of Stree
In the original Stree, Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor played the lead roles. The film ended with a cliffhanger, as Shraddha’s character merged her own hair with the evil spirit’s ponytail. This spirit wreaked havoc by kidnapping men during festive nights in Chanderi.
Urban Legend Behind It All
Stree drew inspiration from the Indian folk legend of Nale Ba, which warns of a witch who abducts men when they are alone, leaving only their clothes behind.
