Chandrika Dixit, popularly known as the ‘Vada Pav Girl,’ had a short-lived journey in Bigg Boss OTT 3, ending with her eviction in the third week. Despite her brief stay, she made headlines for her confrontations and was notably criticized by host Anil Kapoor for allegedly playing the ‘victim card.’ Addressing these allegations, Chandrika clarified, “Playing a victim card means seeking sympathy, which I never did. I never cried in front of the camera or sought sympathy from anyone. I always focused on my life and spoke up when I felt something was wrong.”
During a Weekend Ka Vaar episode, Anil Kapoor reprimanded Chandrika, questioning her role in the house and accusing her of twisting incidents to gain attention. He specifically referred to an episode involving Vishal Pandey’s remarks on Armaan Malik’s wife. In response, Chandrika asserted, “Speaking up for someone or asking for respect for an elder is not playing the victim card. I do cry sometimes, but I know how to roar like a lioness too.”
Life After Bigg Boss OTT 3
Chandrika Dixit gained fame for her resilience, selling vada pavs on the streets of Delhi. Her entry into the Bigg Boss house was highly anticipated, but the buzz diminished after her entry. Reflecting on her time in the house, she mentioned, “I didn’t expect my stay to be this short. People inside the house were not against me. But I don’t know about outside. Maybe the makers should not have approached contestants with fewer followers.”
Chandrika believes that the show should focus on showcasing how to live and survive rather than promoting violence. “We should show the reality of life. That might guide some people,” she added. Despite her early eviction, she is content that she left before the game turned “messy and dirty.”
Currently, Chandrika is taking a break, watching videos of the show, and spending time with her family. She plans to resume selling vada pavs soon, a venture that has brought her name and fame. “Selling vada pavs is my bread and butter. It has given me everything, and I am not taking it for granted. There are many things that life has taken away from me, and I have to achieve all those things back,” she concluded.
