Chris Hemsworth knows Thor and Deadpool’s Secret

The Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) has delivered another blockbuster with the release of Deadpool & Wolverine, which is poised to become a global box-office sensation. One of the standout features of this movie, which has thrilled fans worldwide, is its impressive roster of cameo appearances.

While audiences may have anticipated a few surprise guest stars, the appearance of Chris Hemsworth’s Thor was an unexpected delight for many. In one of the movie’s most poignant scenes, Thor is seen shedding tears as he cradles Deadpool, half of whose face is exposed. This emotional moment has sparked considerable intrigue among fans, particularly after Hemsworth recently hinted at the reason behind Thor’s tears.

Thor and Deadpool’s Secret

The revelation about Thor’s emotional moment came after Ryan Reynolds, who portrays Deadpool, posted a teaser on X (formerly known as Twitter). On August 1, Reynolds shared a still from the scene, where his character is seen performing a shushing gesture. The caption read, “I know why Thor was crying. I can’t unknow it. #DeadpoolAndWolverine.” This cryptic message prompted a flurry of speculation among fans.

Hemsworth added to the mystery by reposting Reynolds’ message with the caption, “I can keep secrets too,” accompanied by a shushing face emoji. This exchange between the two actors has only heightened the anticipation and curiosity surrounding the scene.

Deadpool and the Sacred Timeline

The emotional scene featuring Thor and Deadpool occurs after the Time Variance Authority (TVA) transports Wade Wilson (Deadpool) to Mr. Paradox, who offers him a place in the Sacred Timeline or Earth-616. As Mr. Paradox elaborates on the possibility of Deadpool joining the Avengers, he displays footage from Deadpool’s life on multiple screens, explaining that the TVA has been monitoring him for some time. One screen shows Thor cradling Deadpool, which catches Wade’s attention. Mr. Paradox claims this footage is from the distant future, adding a layer of intrigue and significance to the scene. This revelation hints at deeper connections and future events in the MCU.

Making of the Cameo: Hemsworth’s Ambitions

Unlike other cameo appearances in Deadpool & Wolverine, Chris Hemsworth did not physically come to the set for this scene. The filmmakers used archival footage from Thor: The Dark World (2013), cleverly replacing Tom Hiddleston’s Loki with Deadpool. This creative decision allowed Hemsworth’s Thor to feature in the movie without the actor needing to film new scenes.

Interestingly, Hemsworth had previously expressed a desire to be part of Deadpool 3. Since Jackman’s first appearance as Wolverine was in X-Men (2000), while Wesley Snipes debuted as Blade in 1998. Hemsworth’s cameo in Deadpool & Wolverine serves as a nod to this ambition.
