Aamir Khan to Retire From Bollywood or Acting?

After a series of Bollywood box office disappointments, Aamir Khan has entered a phase of deep introspection. The colossal failure of “Thugs Of Hindostan” in 2018 was a significant setback, but the dismal performance of “Laal Singh Chaddha” was even more shocking. These back-to-back flops have led to widespread speculation about the superstar’s future in Bollywood. Adding fuel to the fire, Aamir’s son, Junaid Khan, recently opened up about his father’s contemplation of retirement, which has left fans and industry insiders concerned about the actor’s career trajectory.

Aamir Khan’s Bollywood Career

In the wake of these setbacks, there have been numerous rumors about Aamir Khan’s plans to rejuvenate his career. Earlier this week, reports emerged suggesting that the actor had decided to release one film every year, realizing that taking extended breaks was not beneficial. Aamir was reportedly in talks with several filmmakers to discuss potential projects. However, a new report has surfaced that contradicts these claims, indicating that the superstar might have other plans. This uncertainty has kept fans on edge, eagerly awaiting concrete news about his next steps.

Junaid Khan on Aamir Khan’s Retirement

Junaid Khan, who recently debuted in Bollywood with “Maharaj” on Netflix, has provided some insights into Aamir Khan’s “retirement” phase. In an interview with the Times of India, Junaid discussed his father’s state of mind and his own journey into film production. He revealed that his involvement in production began during a critical period when Aamir was contemplating retirement. “After we completed the shoot for Maharaj, there was a film we were working on at AKP (Aamir Khan Productions).

At that point, Kiran (Rao) was making Laapataa Ladies, and dad was going through this whole ‘I-am-retiring phase’. He even spoke about that and told me, ‘I am retiring, why don’t you take over.’ So, that’s the phase when I stepped in. I think I have a decent understanding of production. It’s probably one of the toughest jobs in filmmaking,” Junaid shared.

The Future of Aamir Khan’s Career

As fans hope that Aamir Khan has moved past his “I am retiring” phase, the prospect of the actor stepping away from the limelight remains concerning. The idea of Bollywood losing one of its brightest stars is indeed heartbreaking. On the professional front, Aamir Khan’s next project is “Sitaare Zameen Par,” a sports drama starring Genelia D’Souza. The film is based on the Spanish movie “Champions” and is eagerly awaited by fans and critics alike. Whether Aamir Khan will continue to shine on the big screen or take a step back remains to be seen, but his contributions to Indian cinema will always be celebrated.
