Vedaa Box Office Day 2: John Abraham’s Action Thriller Experiences Sharp Decline

Vedaa Box Office Day 2: John Abraham’s Action Thriller Experiences Sharp Decline. Vedaa, directed by Nikhil Advani and featuring John Abraham and Sharvari, experienced a significant decline in its box office collections on its second day. After a promising start on Independence Day, the film’s earnings dropped by 70%, bringing in just Rs 2 crore on its second day.

Day 1 Performance: On its opening day, Vedaa managed to secure the second spot at the box office, trailing only behind Stree 2. The film’s initial success was bolstered by the holiday factor and a strong mass appeal, which helped it earn Rs 6.52 crore. However, this momentum was short-lived.

Day 2 Decline

The day after Independence Day saw a drastic decline in Vedaa’s performance. The film’s collections dropped to Rs 2 crore, indicating a severe lack of interest from the audience. This significant drop has pushed Vedaa down to the third spot, with Khel Khel Mein overtaking it to become the second most preferred film of the week.

Future Prospects: The outlook for Vedaa’s theatrical run appears bleak. The film is expected to collect well under Rs 20 crore in its extended first weekend. Which includes the Rakshabandhan holiday on Monday. The lack of curiosity and interest in the film, coupled with the fierce competition from Stree 2 and Khel Khel Mein, has made it difficult for Vedaa to sustain its initial momentum.

About Vedaa

Vedaa tells the story of Abhimanyu (John Abraham). He is an ex-soldier from the Gorkha Regiment who was court-martialled for disobeying orders during a mission in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. He is hired to train young adults in Barmer, Rajasthan, where casteism is rampant. Vedaa (Sharvari), born into a Dalit family, faces oppression from the higher caste. Despite her willingness to learn boxing, she is not allowed to train. Abhimanyu takes it upon himself to train her separately, empowering her to fight against casteism.

The film’s narrative, while compelling, has struggled to resonate with a broader audience, leading to its disappointing box office performance. As Vedaa continues its theatrical run, it remains to be seen whether it can overcome these challenges. Find its footing in the competitive landscape of Bollywood.
