Raj Arjun will portray an adversary in Yudhra after winning fans with genuine performances in Article370, and Thalaivii, among other films. In addition, Ram Kapoor, Raghav Juyal, Malavika Mohanan, and Siddhant Chaturvedi will play key roles in the next action movie. Raj Arjun has recently discussed his role in Yudhra and elaborated on why it differs from other Bollywood antagonists.
Raj Arjun on his role in ‘Yudhra’
The actor stated how he managed to get Yudhra: “One fine day, I got a call from a casting team. They said that Ravi Udyawar wants to meet me. When I went to meet Ravi Ji, he gave me the narration. I liked it so much that I gave him some ideas about the script while narration only. He loved those ideas and said that we are working together.” Seven years after the release of his debut film Mom, starring Sridevi, Ravi is returning to directing with Yudhra.
In the teaser, Raj Arjun is bald, sporting a black and white beard, making him appear unrecognizable as his evil persona. The actor told in an interview, going into further detail about his role, “I play Firoz, I am a don and a drug dealer. I have my territory and lots of people work under me. Usually, in films, we see the negative characters or antagonists are too loud and have no backstory. I feel every character you are playing, should develop the backstory or it should be there in the script. If it’s not given, you should start thinking and develop the same so that the graph can be shown interestingly and can enhance the beauty of character.”
“It gives you the journey of your pathos, your trauma, and your tragedy because every powerful man also has some vulnerability. If he’s a don or a tycoon, it doesn’t mean he is like a Superman. So, I work a lot on those minor details so that I can present a natural person with a human angle, rather than a typical villain”, he concluded.

Yudhra is an upcoming action film directed by Ravi Udyawar and written by Shridhar Raghavan with dialogues by Farhan Akhtar and Akshat Ghildial. It was produced by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani, under Excel Entertainment. It stars Siddhant Chaturvedi, Malavika Mohanan, Raghav Juyal, Gajraj Rao, Ram Kapoor, Raj Arjun and Shilpa Shukla. The movie is scheduled for a theatrical release on 20 September 2024.
