A part of the movie revolves around the famous IPL cricket team and the most celebrated celebrity, MS Dhoni. both the icons Vijay and ms dhoni are celebrated grandly in Tamil nadu. Especially in Chennai as ms dhoni plays for CSK (Chennai Super Kings) in the IPL tournament and has devoted fans there.

The director stated why the movie got mixed reactions. He stated that The use of CSK and MS Dhoni as a screenplay backdrop by Venkat Prabhu did not have the expected effect, and the nearly 30-minute “playing to the gallery” ending gradually tired the viewers. Even though Venkat Prabhu stated it as one of the causes, other important aspects also contributed to Telugu’s failure to become the GOAT, including a shoddy soundtrack, poor second-half screenplay, and predictable twists.

He further added that all the MI nad RCB  fans troll him every time just because he is a CSK fan. He mentioned that he is a CSK fan by blood and there’s nothing he can do about it.

The Greatest of All Time (GOAT) is a 2024 science fiction action film. The film stars Vijay in dual roles, alongside Prashanth, Prabhu Deva, Mohan, Ajmal Ameer, Jayaram, Sneha, Laila, Meenakshi Chaudhary, Vaibhav, Yogi Babu, Premgi Amaren and Yugendran.
