Rakul Preet Singh on Nepotism: “Films Have Been Taken Away from Me”

Rakul Preet Singh on Nepotism: “Films Have Been Taken Away from Me”. In a recent episode of Ranveer Allahbadia’s podcast. Actress Rakul Preet Singh shared her candid thoughts on the ever-controversial topic of nepotism in the film industry. Known for her versatile roles in Bollywood and South Indian cinema, Rakul opened up about her personal experiences and the broader implications of nepotism.

Losing Opportunities to Nepotism

Rakul admitted that she has lost film projects due to nepotism. “Of course, and then as a result, you can become bitter,” she said. However, she emphasized that this issue is not confined to the film industry alone. “Opportunities can be snatched away from you in any other industry. Like the medical field… and I think that’s life, the sooner you understand this, the better it is for your progress,” she added. This pragmatic approach underscores her resilience and broader understanding of the issue.

Despite the setbacks, Rakul maintains a positive outlook. She believes that harbouring bitterness is counterproductive. “Yes, this is a reality, films have been taken away from me, but I am not a person who will get bitter. Maybe these projects were not meant for me. I move on. I feel bad for a day and then snap out of it,” she shared.

A Balanced Perspective

Rakul also touched upon the inevitability of helping one’s own children in the future. “Tomorrow, if my kids want help, of course, I will help them out and not force the same struggle as I had to undergo on them,” she said. She acknowledged that star kids often get easy access because their parents have worked hard, and she doesn’t see anything wrong with that. “Nepotism is not something I think too much about,” she concluded.

Rakul’s perspective on nepotism is both realistic and balanced. While she recognizes the challenges it poses, she also understands the natural inclination of parents to support their children.
