Popular stand-up comedian Vir Das has become the first Indian to host the internationally prestigious Emmy Awards. Vir Das has gained immense popularity globally through his hilarious stand-up comedies, which got him this once in a lifetime opportunity.

Vir Das a while ago took to his Instagram and shared the elated news of him hosting the Emmy Awards 2024. The news of him becoming the first Indian hosting these respected awards has delighted his fans and the public.

Expressing his joy and gratitude, the stand-up star wrote, “Thanks to your support, an Indian Emmy host. I can’t wait to host the @iemmys this year! Crazy. Thank you for having me. Tremendously honoured and excited!”

To this wonderful news, the Bollywood stars too appreciated Vir Das. Priyanka Chopra, Alia Bhatt, and Ayushman Khurana liked the post shared by Vir, and Hrithik Roshan commented, “Wow. That’s amazing. Very well done (accompanied by a clap emoji).” Kriti Sanon has also lauded Vir Das and wrote, “That’s so amazing!!”

According to a Hollywood reporter, Vir Das expressed his happiness, stating, “I am so happy to be hosting the International Emmys. It’s a massive, prestigious night to uphold makers from across a world that I believe is making its best content. I know firsthand how it can be life-changing.”

Apart from stand-up roles, Vir Das has also acted in a few Bollywood films, such as Delhi Belly and Go Goa Gone. Recently, he was seen in Ananya Panday‘s series, Call Me Bae.
