The famous Punjabi singer Diljit Dosanjh has gained worldwide popularity and love from the audience. The artist’s concerts are popular and well known. He isn’t only an Indian star now but has earned a global fan craze. The Punjabi singer is now making a tour in India, the Dil-Luminati Tour.
The tour tickets were released on Thursday, and within minutes they were sold out. This shows the craze he holds. However, the singer is now dragged into a controversy for charging 20–25K for a single India tour ticket. A comedian-social media influencer has pointed out this concern and asked how the middle class can afford these tickets.
Influencer calling out Diljit for tickets high price:
This all started when social media influencer Saumya Sahni shared a video in which she said that Diljit doesn’t have any right to charge his Indian fans so much. She said, “I might regret saying this later, but I absolutely have to, ki ek Indian artist ka koi haq nahi banta ki woh 20-25 hazar rupaye ek concert ke charge kare jab woh six cities play kar rahe hai. Woh teen sets play kar sakte hai. Kyunki aapke core audience ke paas paisa nahi hai, employment nahi hai, ek bohut hi limited means of entertainment hai. Bohot hi kam artistes hai joh iss desh ke liye, unki language mein perform kar pate hain. Aur uske baad ek middle-class insaan ka koi access nahi hai us artiste tak (No Indian artist should charge ₹20-25 thousand for one concert in India when they are playing in so many cities. They can do more sets in each city because your audience has no money or employment and limited means of entertainment. To see someone like him sing in our language means a lot, but middle-class people have no access to him.)”
Reaction to her video:
She also talked about how kids and middle-class families could have gone to his concerts. She also pointed out that the singer makes so much money overseas; hence, he should have been considerate about the prices of the tickets for Indian fans. Along with the video, Saumya added the text, “₹15K for a concert? In this economy???? In this country?” to her video.
Many people agreed with the influencer, and a few commented, stating, “Being a middle-class person never expected Diljit to be so drowned in fame and money lust.” whereas few of his fans came in support, saying the assessment of ticket prices was fair enough so that their ACTUAL fans could attend the concert and not just people who could afford it.

Diljit Dosanjh will start his tour from Delhi, performing at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium on October 26, following it in Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Lucknow, Pune, Kolkata, Bengaluru, Indore, Chandigarh, and Guwahati.
