Nevertheless, the actress acknowledged how she felt terrible about her other movie. She expressed her disappointment because ‘All We Imagine As Light’ was not accepted as an official entry. She said that she wished both of her films had won an Oscar.

Chhaya Kadam dissatisfied with ‘Laapataa ladies’

In a recent interview, Chhaya Kadam shared her feelings on the achievements of her Laapata Ladies. She responded by saying a moment of pride,’ but she thinks Payal Kapadia’s ‘All We Imagine as Light’ deserves more.

“I am happy for Laapataa Ladies, but at the same time, I am feeling a little bad for Payal’s film as well. Now this decision has been taken by the biggies at the Film Federation, so I have no say in it. I would have loved to see both films at the Oscars.” Chhaya Kadam statted.

On September 8, 2023, Laapataa Ladies screened at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF). On March 1, 2024, ‘Laapataa ladies’ presented in Indian theaters. This year, on April 26, it was released on Netflix OTT platform.

Kiran Rao is the director of the film ‘Laapataa ladies.’ The director took took to her social media platform to express her gratitude. She wrote, “I am deeply honored and beyond delighted that our film Laapataa Ladies has been chosen as India’s official entry to the Academy Awards. This recognition is a testament to the tireless work of my entire team, whose dedication and passion brought this story to life.”
