Vettaiyan Makers of the Rajinikanth starrer changed title for Telugu version amidst the worlwide release. The new Telugu titlte is Vetatagadu.
Superstar Rajinikanth is gearing up for the releases of his much anticipated action film on October 10, 2024.
Filmmakers Lyca Productions has given a clarification for changing the Telugu version of their latest Tamil film Vettaiyan – The Hunter as Vetatagadu.
Now, the makers have clarified why they decided to give the film’s Telugu-dubbed version a Tamil name through a press note.
Superstar’s action drama film is directed by T. J. Gnanavel and produced by Subaskaran’s Lyca Productions with an estimated budget of Rs 300 crores.

The film stars inlcudes Rajinikanth Amitabh Bachchan, Fahadh Faasil, Rana Daggubati, Manju Warrier, Ritika Singh, Dushara Vijayan, Rohini, Rao Ramesh, Abhirami , Kishore , Rakshan , G. M. Sundar, Sabumon Abdusamad, Abhirami as Swetha , Supreeth Reddy, Shaji Chen and Ramesh Thilak.
The film’s music and background score is composed by Anirudh Ravichander, in his fourth collaboration with Rajinikanth after Petta (2019), Darbar (2020) and Jailer (2023); maiden with Gnanavel.
The TJ Gnanavel directorial action film is a cop action-drama that portrays the superstar as a renowned IPS officer and encounter specialist who will clash with Amitabh Bachchan , who is against encountering criminals.
In addition, actors like Manju Warrier, Rithika Singh, Rana Daguupati, Fahad Faasil and Dushara Vijayan play major roles, with many more joining them. The film’s casting inlcudes versatile actors for different industries.
The film set to release on 10th October worldwide in multiple languages like Tamil , Telugu, Hindi , Malayalam and Kannada. It is just hours away from worldwide release.
Superstar film is estimated to collect more than Rs 200 crores on first day.
