Sankranti is festival of entertainment especially for the film industry. Its an eye feast for fans and cine lovers to see their beloved stars on bigscreens with families and friends in festival vibes. To witness the same, we are not far more for that month, with in 2 months of short span biggies are getting ready to entertainer us fully.
This time we have 2 big releases of Tollywood pillars, from Nandamuri lion Balayya is coming with Veerasimha Reddy and from Megastar Chiranjeevi’s Waltair Veerayya. Interestingly, these two high intense mass action films are backed by the same production house Mythri Movie Makers.
Whereas Veerasimha Reddy is helmed by Gopichand Malineni and Waltair Veerayya by Bobby. Noteably, along with these another 2 dubbed movies are releasing for Pongal. Those are Thalapathy Vijay’s Varisu ( Varasudu in Telugu) is directed by Vamshi Paidipally and backed by Dil Raju under SVC and Ajith’s Thunivu is helmed by Vinoth and produced by Boney Kapoor under the banner V Creations.
Almost all four are releasing on festival days only. Official date for releses will be announced shortly. The promotions are started by the makers, booking and allocation of theatres are taking place widely.
Coming to overseas market, Vijay tops the list with huge sold rates. Varisu did nearly 270 crores of pre-release business already. Dil Raju is trying to block all theatres for his movie release both in Telugu states. lets have a look on the overseas rights list :
