Bad Newz Day 2 box office collections: Does Vicky Kaushal’s Film Maintain Momentum?

Bad Newz Day 2 box office collections: Does Vicky Kaushal’s Film Maintain Momentum? Bad Newz, directed by Anand Tiwari and featuring Vicky Kaushal, Triptii Dimri, and Ammy Virk, has experienced a mixed reception at the box office. Despite a strong opening day, the film’s second-day earnings have shown only modest growth, raising concerns about its future performance.

Day 1 Success and Day 2 Challenges

The film opened to a positive response, collecting a significant amount on its first day. However, the second day saw collections of Rs 9.50 crore to Rs 9.75 crore, bringing the total to Rs 17.90 crore over two days. This represents a growth of around 15%, which is lower than expected for a film aimed at urban audiences. Some cinema chains even reported a drop in admissions compared to the opening day, which is not a promising sign for the film’s long-term success.

Weekend Projections and Future Outlook: With the current trend, Bad Newz is expected to earn around Rs 27.50 crore by the end of its first weekend. Ideally, the film should have seen a growth of 50-60% to achieve a weekend collection of over Rs 35 crore. The performance on Monday will be crucial; a significant drop could be detrimental, especially with the release of the highly anticipated Deadpool and Wolverine movie in the following weekend, which is expected to dominate the box office.

A Positive Note for Vicky Kaushal

Despite the challenges, Bad Newz has solidified Vicky Kaushal’s reputation as a bankable star. The film managed to secure the sixth-best opening of the year for a Hindi film, even with limited appeal outside urban areas. This bodes well for Kaushal’s future projects, including his next film, Chhava, which is anticipated to be his biggest opener yet.

About Bad Newz

The film tells the story of Saloni Bagga (Triptii Dimri), a chef determined to earn a ‘Meraki Star’ for her restaurant. She meets Akhil Chaddha (Vicky Kaushal) at a wedding, and despite her initial reluctance, they start a relationship and eventually marry. However, they soon realize they are incompatible and part ways. Saloni moves to a hill station, where she meets Gurbir Pannu (Ammy Virk). Complications arise when she discovers she is pregnant and both men could be the father.
