Chandu Champion Witnessed Best Box Office in 2024

Kartik Aaryan’s latest film, “Chandu Champion,” has experienced mixed success at the box office since its release. On its fifth day, the film earned Rs 5 crore, which represents a 15% increase from its first-day collections but a 50% drop from its Sunday earnings. This fluctuating performance has been closely tracked by Box Office India.

Chandu Champion Box Office Collection

“Chandu Champion,” based on the life of India’s first Paralympic gold medallist, Murlikant Petkar, managed to maintain steady earnings on its fifth day, which was a Tuesday. The film collected ₹3.25 crore on that day, showing some consistency in its box office run.

Opening Day Comparison

The film collected ₹4.75 crore on its opening day, which falls short compared to the opening figures of Kabir Khan’s previous films. For instance, “Ek Tha Tiger,” his first collaboration with Salman Khan, earned ₹32.93 crore on its release day. Another film with Salman, “Bajrangi Bhaijaan,” opened with ₹27.25 crore, showing a stark contrast.

Kabir Khan’s Previous Films

Even Kabir Khan’s “Phantom,” which did not perform well at the box office, had a better opening with ₹8.43 crore. His third collaboration with Salman Khan, “Tubelight,” also had a stronger start, opening at ₹21.15 crore. His most recent film before “Chandu Champion,” the sports drama “83,” opened with ₹12.64 crore, further highlighting the underwhelming start for “Chandu Champion.”

Weekend Box Office Performance

On its second day, “Chandu Champion” collected ₹7 crore, and then ₹9.75 crore on the third day. The movie passed the Monday test with ₹5 crore, slightly higher than its opening-day collections, showing some resilience in its box office performance.

Total Collections So Far

The Bollywood film’s total net collection in India stands at ₹29.75 crore after five days. The gross domestic collection is ₹31.5 crore, and it has earned ₹7.5 crore from the overseas market. This brings the total collection to ₹39 crore. However, the film still has a long way to go to break even, as media reports suggest the production cost was ₹120 crore.
