Raayan Box Office Day 1 Advance Booking

Dhanush’s highly anticipated directorial venture, “Raayan,” is set to hit theaters worldwide on July 26th. This marks his 50th film in the industry, and the action-drama film has generated immense pre-release excitement.

The buzz around “Raayan” has been fueled by its eye-catching posters, which have sparked major conversations on social media, translating into impressive Day 1 advance booking numbers. As of noon today, over 2.75 lakh tickets have already been sold across different languages, indicating a strong opening.

Advance Bookings Soar in Tamil Nadu

The advance bookings for “Raayan” have been particularly strong in Tamil Nadu, where the anticipation has reached a fever pitch. Pre-sales in the state have surpassed the 4 crore mark, with over 2.3 lakh tickets sold. The film’s Tamil version alone has generated 3.04 crore in pre-sales, rising to 4.17 crore when block seats are included. This momentum positions “Raayan” to potentially break Dhanush’s previous record, held by “Karnan,” which grossed 10.40 crore on its opening day in Tamil Nadu. The overwhelming response in Tamil Nadu highlights Dhanush’s massive fan base and the high expectations for his latest project.

Promising Advance Sales in Telugu and Hindi Markets

While Tamil Nadu leads the charge, the Telugu and Hindi markets are also showing promising advance sales. In the Telugu market, over 38,000 tickets have been sold, grossing 42 lakh. The film’s performance in this region is expected to rely heavily on word-of-mouth following its release. In the Hindi market, “Raayan” has sold over 5,700 tickets, grossing 6 lakh. The simultaneous release in multiple languages demonstrates the wide appeal of “Raayan” and Dhanush’s growing influence beyond Tamil cinema.

Star-Studded Cast and Stellar Production

“Raayan” features a stellar supporting cast, including Kalidas Jayaram, Sundeep Kishan, Aparna Balamurali, S.J. Suryah, Prakash Raj, and Selvaraghavan, with Dhanush playing a pivotal role. Produced by the renowned Sun Pictures banner, the film also boasts captivating music by A.R. Rahman. This marks Dhanush’s second directorial project following his 2017 film “Pa Paandi.”

As of now, “Raayan” has amassed a total gross of 39,260,395 across India, with 2,75,343 tickets sold and block seats totaling 62,449,882. In 2024, “Indian 2” emerged as the highest-grossing opening film in the Tamil film industry, collecting 26 crore. While “Captain Miller” holds the second position with 8.80 crore, “Raayan” is expected to surpass it, securing the second spot in the highest-grossing opening films.
