Wrapping This Week’s Kalki 2898 Box Office Collections

Nag Ashwin’s dystopian sci-fi film “Kalki 2898 AD” has been performing exceptionally well since its release on June 27. The film features a star-studded cast including Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan, and Kamal Haasan.

In just seven days, “Kalki 2898 AD” has surpassed the ₹700 crore mark at the worldwide box office, amassing ₹725 crore. This impressive feat underscores the film’s widespread appeal and strong reception among audiences globally.

The producers of the film, Vyjayanthi Movies, recently announced the film’s remarkable box office success. They shared a striking poster of Deepika Padukone’s character walking through fire. Adding a caption celebrating the film’s ongoing “dream run” in theaters.

The poster prominently displays “700 crores + GBOC worldwide,” signifying the gross box office collections. A press note further confirmed that the film had made ₹725 crore in its seven-day run. This milestone has set a new benchmark, surpassing the closing collections of Prabhas’ previous film, “Salaar: Part 1”.

Will Kalki Achieve 1000 Crore at Box Office

“Kalki 2898 AD” has not only outperformed “Salaar: Part 1” but is also on track to join the elite club of Indian films that have grossed over ₹1000 crore worldwide. The filmmakers are optimistic about the film’s potential to achieve this milestone, given its strong box office performance so far. If Kalki continues its momentum, it could potentially rival some of the highest-grossing Indian films of all time, further cementing its place in cinematic history.

Globally, Kalki has emerged as the most successful Indian film of 2024. After just six days in theaters, the film grossed ₹700 crore worldwide, according to Vyjayanthi Movies. In the context of Indian cinema, “Dangal” remains the highest-grossing Indian film with ₹2070 crore, followed by “Baahubali 2” at ₹1788 crore, and “RRR” at ₹1230 crore. Other notable films in the ₹1000 crore club include “KGF Chapter 2” (₹1215 crore), “Jawan” (₹1160 crore), and “Pathaan” (₹1055 crore). The performance of “Kalki is closely watched to see if it can join this exclusive club.

The seventh day’s worldwide collections indicate that “Kalki 2898 AD” will surpass the worldwide collections of Shankar’s “2.0,” which made ₹744.78 crore in 2018. The film has already overtaken Prabhas‘ “Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire,” which made around ₹600 crore last year.
