Arjun Rampal’s salty comment on Om’s second life in Om Shanti Om

From 2007 to 2023, people are still obsessed with Om and Shantipriya. The famous scene of this chocolate boy with a hand on his heart and a starstruck smile is still used for cheesy Instagram reels. Clearly, no time is the right time to get over this truce.

Arjun Rampal, an Indian Bollywood actor, popularly cast for villain roles, started off as a model. His career later took off with films like Ra.One and Om Shanti Om. The one who left Shantipriya in the burning room? Yes, that’s Rampal for you. When you hate the villain of the movie so much you feel like punching him in his face, that’s when you know the actor did a phenomenal job. And we all hated Mukesh for his move, didn’t we?

A day ago, this ‘villain role expert’ got interviewed by Harper’s Bazaar India where he expressed his unfiltered views about SRK as Om. It starts off with how celebrities’ kids have an easier entry ticket to movies because their parents are already in the profession. It quickly escalates to Om in the movie, “When he was reborn in the second half in a film family, it was irritating.” The anchor adds her two cents calling Om ‘India’s first nepo baby’ to which Arjun readily agrees.

This gives us a little insight into Arjun’s views about nepotism. It’s crystal clear that he favours self-made artists – him being one, too – and it-runs-in-the-family success is a futile concept.
