Announcing the news, the makers labelled Veeran as ‘the much-awaited Tamil Super Hero Story’ and they released a new poster featuring Adhi as the titular character. We can see him wearing a black and red dress that is reminiscent of Indian warriors of yore, and he is joined by a majestic black horse, which hints at the kind of superhero film Veeran might turn out to be.
Veeran, which has music by Hiphop Tamizha, is backed by Sendhil Thyagarajan and Arjun Thyagarajan for the iconic Sathya Jyothi Films banner. Incidentally, this is the third collaboration between this production house and Adhi after Sivakumar in Sabadham and Anbarivu.
The films of super-hero tagged from Kollywood are mostly creative and critically acclaimed but the films didn’t do very well at box office, But interestingly there are much film which are being produced under this concept or genre. Mugamoodi, Kanthaswamy, Hero are some very popular films which are well appreciated by audience, but these films did not perform well at box-office. Mugamoodi was directed by Mysskin, film was an absolute thriller, casting like Jiiva also didn’t help the film to be a blockbuster at box-office. Hero and Kanthaswamy are also very well appreciated but audience did not receive at theatres. Let’s hope this issue doesn’t repeat for Veeran.
