The Marvel Cinematic Universe is expanding significantly as it provides opportunities for performers and directors from all around the world, not just the biggest Hollywood stars.

Simu Liu, Chloé Zhao, Ryan Coogler, and the late Chadwick Boseman pushed the limits of the universe, and now, according to the source, the studio wants to be more inclusive. As a result, there are already discussions about the MCU’s first South Asian Superhero team. If that weren’t thrilling enough, the company also plans to cast another Asian star, and Jennie Kim of BLACKPINK is the person they are considering.

Yes, this rumour can soon become true, and you are not dreaming. Since introducing Shang-Chi in the well-received stand-alone film, the MCU has made a concerted effort to enlist more South Asian Superheroes. Another example of this was Ms. Marvel, which starred Iman Vellami and included a special cameo from Farhan Akhtar.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe executives have chosen to create a new superhero who will be a K-Pop musician in the MCU timeline and who will likely be portrayed by none other than the very well-known Jennie of the BLACKPINK band, in order to fill the gap left by the lack of greater representation. As per a report, Jennie is set to play Luna Snow, a K-POP singer who has magical powers and is a superhero. The character is comparatively and is recently introduced to the comics after the games. It was created by Marvel Games’ Danny Koo, Bill Rosemann, Netmarble’s Min Kyun Kim, and JeeHyung Lee for the mobile game Marvel Future Fight. Luna Snow made her first comic appearance and in writer Greg Pak and artist Gang Hyuk Lim’s War of the Realms: New Agents of Atlas #1 from 2019. Said to be played by BLACKPINK’s Jennie is part of the K-pop group 4L1T before she goes on to gaining ice-based superpowers. While all of this is already very exciting, the report also revealed that she would also be a part of the MCU’s first Asian Superhero team. Whether this is the Age Of Atlas or something entirely different is a mystery, that time will solve.
