According to C Ashwini Dutt of Vyjayanti Films, the sequel to “Kalki 2898 AD” has reached a significant milestone.  With approximately 60% of the film already completed. Dutt shared, “#Kalki2898AD part 2 has been completed almost 60%. Only major portions are left to shot. We are not decided on release date (sic).”

This announcement reassures fans that the sequel is well on its way. Even though a release date remains undecided. The production team has successfully wrapped up many crucial scenes. Leaving only the major portions to be filmed. This significant progress indicates that the film is steadily moving towards completion. Albeit with some key elements still needing attention.

A Potential Multi-Part Saga ?

While many fans expected the sequel to simply be a continuation. Akin to what was done with franchises like “Baahubali” and “KGF.” The creators of “Kalki 2898 AD” seem to have a more expansive vision. Director Nag Ashwin’s decision to end the first film with the title “Welcome to Kalki Cinematic Universe” suggests that this isn’t just a two-part story. Instead, it seems likely that the “Kalki” franchise will unfold into a grand, multi-part saga.

This intriguing possibility was bolstered by a recent statement from Prabhas. One of the film’s stars, who confirmed. Nag Ashwin plans to begin work on Part 2 after a brief 10-day rest. The director’s visionary approach, blending futuristic science fiction with elements of Indian mythology, has laid a rich groundwork for a potentially extensive series of films.
