Currently, Mammootty is engrossed in the shooting of Gautham Vasudev Menon’s Malayalam directorial debut. This marks another exciting phase in his prolific career as he continues to explore diverse roles and collaborations.
Mammootty Launching a Debutant Director
In a recent development, Mammootty is set to collaborate with debutant director Jithin K Jose for his next Malayalam film. This new project is slated to commence once Mammootty wraps up his current film with Gautham Vasudev Menon. The film will be produced under Mammootty’s own banner, Mammootty Kampany, showcasing the megastar’s commitment to nurturing new talent in the industry. While details about the project remain under wraps, the official announcement is anticipated to follow once the film goes on the floor. This venture marks another step in Mammootty’s ongoing support for emerging filmmakers.
Upcoming Projects and Collaborations
Beyond this new collaboration, Mammootty has several other projects in the pipeline. He is expected to team up with acclaimed editor-filmmaker Mahesh Narayanan for an untitled political thriller. The film, which also stars MP Suresh Gopi, Fahadh Faasil, and Kunchacko Boban, was initially planned to start mid-2024. However, due to the busy schedules of the lead actors and date conflicts, the project has been pushed to 2025. Additionally, Mammootty is set to reunite with Turbo director Vysakh for a sequel. Following the completion of Vysakh’s ongoing project with Prithviraj Sukumaran, Khalifa.
Future Collaborations with Amal Neerad
Looking ahead, Mammootty is also preparing to work with director Amal Neerad on a big-budget project. The two had previously announced Bilal, a sequel to their successful film Big B, in 2017. However, the sequel has faced indefinite delays due to various technical issues. The upcoming venture with Neerad is not related to Big B or Bheeshma Parvam but will present a new narrative. An official announcement about this project is expected soon.
