Suresh Productions is one of the most prestigious banners in the Indian film industry. As Ramanaidu passed away, his son Suresh Babu took the mantle and successfully ran the house. Of late, the banner has completely focussed on releasing the movies only on OTT rather than the theatres. This is a better way for producers to get back the money spent on the project for sure. Suresh Babu was a clever businessman who opted for this route so that there would not be any tensions for the release or collections. Narappa, and Drushyam 2 have gone the OTT route. Even though Suresh tries the same for Virata Paravam, for some other reasons, the movie team brought the film into theatres. Now, the latest news is that the OTT platforms have given a shock to the ace producer by deciding to buy only the films that they themselves entirely or partially produce.
As Suresh is readying to sell his latest productions Sakini Dakini and Dongalunnaru Jagrattha films on Netflix, the latest decision has come as a shocker to him. With no other options left, the team are opting for a theatrical release. Sakini Dakini is helmed by Sudheer Varma and is a joint venture of Suresh Productions along with Guru Films and Kross Pictures. It stars Nivetha Thomas and Regina Cassandra. Dongalunnaru Jagrattha stars Simah Koduri, Preethi Asrani and Samuthirakhani. The film is jointly produced by Guru Films and Suresh Productions and directed by debutant Satish Tripura. The shoot of both films was completed recently and the makers are looking at a suitable release date to bring the films on silver screens.
