Stree 2 makers for Munjya, never before strategy

The Maddock Supernatural Universe is expanding with every new release. After the success of Stree in 2018, the universe continued to grow with films like Roohi (2021) and Bhediya (2023). Now, the latest addition to this supernational universe is Munjya, directed by Aditya Sarpotdar. Interestingly, these horror comedies are interconnected, and fans are eagerly awaiting the next installment: Stree 2.

Stree, set in the fictional town of Chanderi, follows the story of Vicky, a local tailor who becomes a messiah when a supernatural entity kidnaps the town’s men. The film starred Rajkummar Rao, Shraddha Kapoor, Abhishek Banerjee, Aparshakti Khurana, and Pankaj Tripathi. It successfully revived the horror-comedy genre in Bollywood.

Now, the teaser trailer for Stree 2 is set to release, but there’s a twist. Trade analyst and film critic Taran Adarsh revealed that producer Dinesh Vijan has a unique plan. Instead of uploading the teaser directly to the internet, it will premiere exclusively in theaters during the screening of Munjya on June 21, 2024. This move aims to create buzz and excitement among moviegoers, making the theatrical experience even more special.

Stree 2 will see Rajkummar Rao, Shraddha Kapoor, and Abhishek Banerjee reprising their roles. Filming began in July 2023, and almost a year later, the teaser is ready. Fans can mark their calendars for August 31, 2024, when Stree 2 hits the theaters.

The producers of Stree 2 have taken an unprecedented step by tying the teaser trailer release to the theatrical screening of Munjya. This strategic move aims to create a buzz among audiences, emphasizing the interconnectedness of these supernatural comedies. By exclusively premiering the teaser in theaters during Munjya’s run, they’re redefining the promotional game. Fans can expect an immersive experience as they step into the world of horror, laughter, and Munjya magic.
