The milk beauty Tamannaah Bhatia is well-celebrated in India for her performances in movies. She is hugely appreciated for leading in films in the Hindi, Tamil and Telugu languages. She made her special appearance in the recent movie Stree 2 which was a big blockbuster hit.
In her discussion of the differences between South Indian and Bollywood films, Tamannaah Bhatia credited the latter’s popularity to its grounded storytelling and emphasis on universal human emotions. She pointed out that whereas Bollywood frequently strives for mainstream consumption, which can dilute its themes, South Indian directors value authenticity over wide appeal.
In an interview
In a recent interview, Tamannaah was asked to share her opinion on what makes Bollywood films different from South films, she said, “The difference I have particularly noticed is that South films talk more in terms of their geographical locations. I think their content is translating globally primarily because they are trying to tell rooted stories.”
“They don’t work from the standpoint of choosing… segments in people. They go for basic human emotions, related to mother, father… revenge on brother, sister… stories that tend to tell many more stories about basic human emotions through different storytelling formats. They are also very much concerned about putting their perspective the way it is. They are not trying to service different kinds of people. They are trying to only tell what they know fully. That has really worked, I think, for the South.” she further added.
Tamannaah Bhatia ‘s upcoming films
On the work front, she was last seen in Vedaa, which also released along with Stree 2. Vedaa was directed by Nikkhil Advani, it also stars John Abraham and Sharvari Wagh in lead roles. She will be next seen in Odela 2 a Telugu language film. The actress is also doing a web series titled, ‘Daring Partners’ in Hindi language.
