The actor has recently given an interview in which he spoke about his previous film, ‘Adhipurush.’ He played Ravan in the film. The film did well initially, but it led to the rise of huge controversies.

Actor Saif Ali Khan discussed the controversy surrounding his film Adipurush. The movie released in 2023. He elaborated on the controversy. In Uttar Pradesh, a case filed against him. He termed it “a little unsettling.” However, it taught him to stay away from doing such types of roles.

He began saying, “There was a case and some kind of decision taken by the court that said an actor is responsible for what he says on screen.” Saif portrayed the role of Ravan in Adipurush and had to apologize for stating that the film presents a ‘human’ side of Ravan, as his comment “hurt Hindu sentiments.”

Saif was unsure of how serious the problem was. He said, “I don’t know how real a problem it is. I know a lot of people are not free to say or do whatever they want. We all have to police ourselves slightly and be a bit careful; otherwise, there could be trouble.”

He further expresses Certain topics draw attention to some subjects that have to be handled carefully. “There are certain areas, like religion, that you need to stay away from. There are many stories that we can tell. We are not here to create trouble,” he mentioned.

Adipurush wasn’t the only project that caused Saif to face criticism. In addition, he was criticized for playing a politician in the nearly canceled Prime Video series Tandav. Thinking back on that encounter, he remarked, “You learn that the next time probably not…if somebody asks me, ‘Would you do the same job again?’ Knowing what I know now, I would say, ‘No, it’s asking for trouble.’ Also, I am lucky to get a lot of offers. So, you need to stay away from these areas.”

“Our profession is to bring the whole country together, irrespective of caste and creed,” he concluded.
