Sushmita Sen: “Taali is my homage to a neglected community.”

Sushmita Sen

Sushmita Sen is currently working on her upcoming project, Taali. During a promotional interview, Sushmita Sen spoke about why she chose the project. The film Taali is based on Shreegauri Sawant, a transgender activist who was the first in her community to adopt a baby girl after the baby’s mother passed away.

Upon being asked, ” For every actor there is a point in their life where they realize they want to do work that creates an impact and brings about a change, is Taali that project for you?” The actress replied, ” As an actor, we want to grow”, she added, “Taali is not that for me. Taali is, this is my homage to a neglected community, to people I have known because I belong to this creative community, not just here but also friends abroad, t they all have heartbreaking stories, and there is nothing you could do for them, you could listen or empathize with them, but you could do nothing about it. When Taali was brought to me, this was my tribute. This was where I knew I could do something about it. If the amount of love I, as Sushmita, have received in the 30 years of being in the public eye, I can use that and become the medium for you to love another human being. That’s perfect for me.”

Sushmita also spoke about how she faced various struggles in her life, and after having undergone the stent procedure, the actress feels revived and mentions, “The Vitility is back.”.
