17 years for raw and cult film Pudhupettai, fans who hated this movie then are celebrating this movie today.

Pudhupettai is a 2006 Indian Tamil-language crime action film written and directed by Selvaraghavan, starring his brother Dhanush in the lead role, while Sonia Agarwal and Sneha played supporting roles. It follows the story of a slum-dwelling student from Pudhupettai who rises to become a dreaded gangster in North Chennai as a means of survival.

It had an average opening weekend at the box office and earned varying reviews from critics when it was first released. But with time, it developed a cult following and is now regarded as one of Selvaraghavan and Dhanush’s best works. Ilaaka was used as the Hindi dubbing. Its name in Telugu is “dhoolpeta.”

It concerns A young boy who flees after learning that his mother has passed away, and a mobster subsequently picks him up. He creates some significant enemies after rising to the position of his employer’s right-hand man, and everyone begins to hunt him down. In this movie, everyone played themselves too well. Fans are currently commemorating this cult classic movie on the occasion of Pudhupettai’s re-release on the 17th anniversary.
