Samantha Prabhu’s talent as an actor is well-proven by the kind of performances she has delivered throughout her career. Her range as an actor too is something that has been spoken about and applauded before. And now, she has managed to be crowned the most popular female star in India. Now the actress is all set with Pan Indian film Shaakuntalam.
With South films becoming blockbusters, she stated that people in Mumbai and the North have discovered who South actors are. Samantha explained that some years back this was not the case but now South actors are treated with a lot of respect.
Samantha said, “It’s wonderful. Sometimes, we South actors couldn’t source garments from the designers because they were like, ‘Who are you?’ South actor? What South? We have come a long way from there, haven’t we? This inclusivity is quite amazing, and we’re finally where we should be.” It is top Mumbai designer Neeta Lulla who has worked on Shaakunatalam now.
