Aamir Khan Son, Junaid Khan set to Make His Debut in June

Over the past four years, Junaid Khan, Aamir Khan’s son, has diligently prepared for his acting debut in the Indian film industry. His journey led him to sign with Yash Raj Films, India’s premier production house, for their ambitious drama titled “Maharaj.”

The film is set against the backdrop of the 1862 Maharaja Libel Case—a historical context that promises intrigue and depth. After completing production in October 2023, the makers made an exciting announcement: “Maharaj” is headed to Netflix. Now, we’ve learned that the film is all set for its digital premiere in June 2024.

Premiere Date and Strategic Campaign

Sources close to the project reveal that “Maharaj” will premiere on Netflix on June 14, 2024. YRF (Yash Raj Films) and Aditya Chopra have unwavering confidence in the film’s content and believe that Netflix’s global reach will amplify its impact. A well-crafted marketing campaign is already in place.

The film’s trailer is scheduled to release around June 5, followed by a 9-day gap leading up to the official premiere. As an OTT (over-the-top) release, Netflix has strategically designed a concise pre-release campaign, reserving the major promotional push for post-release discussions and audience engagement.

Junaid’s Role and YRF’s Digital Ventures

Directed by Siddharth P Malhotra (known for Rani Mukerji’s “Hichki”), “Maharaj” features Junaid in the lead role. Story of a journalist who fearlessly confronts those in positions of power. Alongside Junaid, the film stars Sharvari, Jaideep Ahlawat, and Shalini Pandey. Notably, “Maharaj” marks YRF’s third direct-to-digital project, following “Romantics” and “The Railway Men.”

Junaid’s debut promises to be a compelling addition to the streaming landscape, and audiences eagerly await this fresh talent’s performance. Additionally, Junaid has another project, the “Love Today” remake. Lined up for release, produced by none other than his father, Aamir Khan. Junaid Khan is set to begin his third project, which will be directed by Advait Chandan. He will be paired opposite Khushi Kapoor.
