Ajay Devgn Signs New Thriller Series
Ajay Devgn has approved a new thriller series under his banner, which will be directed by Honey Trehan. The project is in the writing stage and is expected to begin filming by the end of the year. Details about the plot remain undisclosed, but it is described as a mystery thriller. Information regarding the cast and the OTT platform it will be available on has not yet been revealed.
Honey Trehan’s Transition from Casting Director to Film Director
Honey Trehan is a well-known casting director who transitioned to film directing with the 2020 Netflix film Raat Akeli Hai, starring Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Radhika Apte, and Shweta Tripathi. Trehan has also directed Punjab 95, featuring Diljit Dosanjh and Arjun Rampal.
The film, based on the life of human rights activist Jaswant Singh Khalra, who opposed alleged fake encounters of Sikh youths by Punjab Police during the militancy period, has faced censorship issues delaying its release.
Devgn Films’ Foray into OTT Content
The upcoming series directed by Honey Trehan will be Devgn Films’ fourth OTT project in the last five years. The company entered the digital content space with Kajol’s Netflix film Tribhanga in 2020. Since then, they have produced two more series for Disney+Hotstar: Pratik Gandhi’s The Great Indian Murder and Kajol’s The Trial: Pyaar Kaanoon Dhoka. Additionally, Devgn Films is developing a biopic on India’s first Dalit cricketer, Palwankar Baloo, in collaboration with Priti Sinha and Tigmanshu Dhulia.
Ajay Devgn Upcoming Films
Ajay Devgn’s upcoming film lineup includes several high-profile projects. He will next be seen alongside Tabu in Neeraj Pandey’s romantic thriller Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha. Set for release on July 5, 2024. Following this, he will appear in Raj Kumar Gupta’s Raid 2. And Rohit Shetty’s Singham Again, which is scheduled for a Diwali 2024 release.
Other upcoming projects include De De Pyaar De 2 and Son of Sardaar 2. Ajay Devgn also has an extended cameo in Abhishek Kapoor’s next film, which marks the debut of his nephew, Aaman Devgan, in the film industry.
