Bollywood star Alia Bhatt, who has a history of huge hits and is renowned for her amazing acting skills, recently opened up about her experience with ADHD. She said that when she’s filming and spending time with her daughter Raha, she feels most present. “I am at peace in front of the camera.” Reflecting on her diagnosis, Alia recalled her friend’s response, who nonchalantly remarked, “This is not some sort of revelation,” highlighting the familiarity of her struggles.

During a recent conversation, Alia Bhatt discussed her experience receiving a clinical diagnosis of attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder or ADHD. When she considered her experiences, she realized that she had always dozed off during lectures and chats. This habit had started when she was young. The actress also disclosed that an assessment by a psychologist verified her high on the ADHD spectrum.
She revealed that her friends’ response when she told them about her illness was one of familiarity because they had always suspected it. She stated, “When I told about this to my friends, they were like, ‘We always knew. This is not some sort of revelation.'” Despite her friends’ insights, Alia was unaware of her condition until the test, which helped her understand why she feels most at ease when in front of the camera. “Then I understood why I am at peace in front of the camera,” she said.
Alia continued by saying that she feels most herself when she’s performing in front of the camera and giving her all to the role she plays. She underlined that her time with her daughter Raha is a reflection of these instances of presence. Says she “Now after Raha, when I am with her, I am most present.” These two aspects of her life bring her ‘more peace’.
