Ayan Mukerji pens a note of gratitude as YJHD turns 10

“Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani” will always have a special place in our hearts. With great songs, lovely friendships, a beautiful love story, and picturesque locations, the movie remains a timeless classic. YJHD marks its 10th year anniversary today.

The movie was so iconic that every youngster wanted to embark on a tour with their friends like Bunny and Naina, have a destination wedding like Aditi, and simply have a gala time like Avi. Many even considered leaving their home and exploring the world like Bunny did.

As the movie turns ten, Director Ayan Mukerji penned a heartfelt note showing gratitude for the film. “Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani” was Ayan’s second directorial venture. He took to social media and shared a video featuring memorable moments from the film. He wrote, “YJHD – My second child, a piece of my heart and soul – 10 years old today! ❤️. I think after all these years, I can confidently say that…Making this movie was one of the greatest joys of my life! And what we achieved with it – with all its perfections and imperfections – is a source of great eternal pride for me!”

Surprisingly, the actor has never watched the movie completely. The director revealed that he was always looking for the next endeavor and he didn’t look back at his past often. He added that when he is older and wiser, he will watch the movie at least once. He also shared that people often recognize him for YJHD.

The director’s next film will be War 2 with Hrithik Roshan and the next two parts of Brahmastra with Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt.
