Anand Tiwari’s Statement:
In a recent interview, when the director was asked about not getting numbers at the box office, Anand Tiwari replied, “I never expected any numbers. I don’t have it in me to play this number game. There are other people more qualified than me who can do it. All I wanted was for the audience to love the film because we made it out of love ourselves. To get that kind of love, and people resonating with the songs, dance, and the comedy, that’s just great for me”
Bad Newz is currently streaming on prime video. The filmmaker also talked about the OTT platform, highlighting how audiences now engage with content more deeply. He mentioned that OTT merges the collective experience of cinema with the intimate viewing nature of television. He said,” It has really democratized content watching. I feel proud that we (him and Amritpal Singh Bindra) were the first ones to venture into the space. Be it Band Bajaa Baraat, Love Per Square Foot to Maja Maa, the first digital film for Amazon Prime. We have learnt so much on the way, and while things have changed a bit, the hunger for good content remains the same.”
