Brad Pitt slams Angelina Jolie

The ongoing legal battle between Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie over their French winery, Château Miraval, has intensified. Pitt is strongly contesting Jolie’s recent request for access to his private communications regarding the notorious 2016 plane incident, which allegedly contributed to their divorce. The Moneyball actor’s legal team argues that Jolie’s request is an unwarranted invasion of privacy and a “sensationalist fishing expedition” irrelevant to the winery dispute.

Pitt Refuses to Share Private Messages About 2016 Plane Incident

As Brangelina’s high-profile divorce nears its settlement, tensions have escalated. Pitt has formally filed a motion to dismiss Jolie’s request for their private conversations. These conversations pertain to a 2016 family plane trip during which Pitt allegedly attacked Jolie and their children. The motion, submitted to the Los Angeles County Superior Court, reflects Pitt’s strong opposition to the request, calling it an intrusive overreach.

Pitt’s legal team states that he has already offered to provide documents detailing the plane trip, but Jolie rejected this compromise. Instead, she seeks access to his private communications with third parties about the incident, including sensitive issues such as the therapy Pitt voluntarily undertook after the flight, drug and alcohol testing, and his alleged overuse of alcohol. According to People, the court filing highlights these points.

Dispute Over Relevance of Private Communications

In April, Jolie submitted a request regarding a nondisclosure agreement, which her team claims was demanded by Pitt as a condition for purchasing her Miraval shares. Jolie’s legal team alleges that Pitt has sought to exert control over her, financially exploit her, and conceal his history of abuse and control. In response, Pitt’s legal counsel argues that the actress’s request for “private, third-party communications” from that period is not relevant to the winery dispute.

Pitt’s legal team contends that if Jolie’s requests were genuinely about the events on the plane, his offer to provide documents should have sufficed. However, they assert that Jolie is attempting to use this business dispute to re-litigate their divorce case. The filing reads, “Jolie, however, wants them anyway as part of her efforts to turn this business dispute into a re-litigation of the former couple’s divorce case.”

By seeking access to private communications, Jolie’s team aims to uncover details that could impact the ongoing legal battle. However, Pitt’s legal team remains firm in their stance, emphasizing that the request is irrelevant and intrusive.
