Bailey and her rapper boyfriend DDG, whose actual name is Darryl Dwayne Granberry Jr., have been dating since January 2022, when they were first spotted together at Usher’s Las Vegas residency. Following DDG’s birthday homage to Bailey in March, the couple finally confirmed their relationship. However, it appears like Bailey and DDG are no longer together after more than a year together. According to fan conjecture, Halle Bailey and her boyfriend may have made it quits.
Although neither Bailey nor DDG have announced a breakup, people are speculating, especially because the two no longer follow each other on Instagram. The couple unfollowed each other after DDG was pictured at the premiere of ‘The Little Mermaid’ in Los Angeles on May 8. They were not photographed together, and they walked the red carpet separately.
Fans also accused DDG of trying to “steal” Bailey’s moment after he tweeted in a since-deleted post that he had never seen the animation feature, despite his girlfriend playing Ariel in the highly anticipated live-action picture.
“Should I watch the animated version of The Little Mermaid before seeing the live-action version?” Or simply watch the new one. “I’ve never seen it,” the rapper wrote, which enraged Bailey’s followers, who accused him of being unsupportive.
Fans also noticed that DDG threw some shade at Bailey’s co-star Jonah Hauer-King after social media fans pointed out their tight friendship throughout the press for ‘The Little Mermaid.’
