Even though he is from a legendary acting family, Chay Akkineni is facing hardships in his film career. Be it selecting the scripts or acting, Chay is making a few mistakes which have led him to the present situation, says the trade pundits. All his recent movies were below average or flopped at the box office. It is interesting to note that the ace director Sekhar Kammula and lady power star Sai Pallavi combinedly were unable to give a hit to Chay. The actor’s time is in such a way that even the Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan’s Lal Singh Chaddha has failed completely and become a box office dud. Chay has a lot of hopes pinned on this film since it is his Bollywood debut. In Telugu, Talented director Vikram K Kumar’s Thank You too, didn’t make any noise at box office collections.
Chay has a lot of expectations on Thank You. Being the feel-good movie it is, Chay thought it would bring his career back on track, say the sources close to him. As his confidence is shattered with flops lined up back to back, they say that he has now stopped signing new films. Except for the Dootha series on OTT which is being directed by Vikram himself, there are no other projects in his kitty. Unable to fathom where his career is going, the Akkineni scion is said to be taking a break, reportedly a longer one, to come back fresh and better. The personal life debacle with Samantha Ruth Prabhu added to his emotional problems as well, say the sources. Cine pundits are suggesting that the actor needs to observe the current trends and select movies accordingly. Chay’s fans are hoping that at least after this break, he will be back with a bang.
