Chinmayi Sripada slams Kamal Haasan for ignoring #MeToo

Recently, actor and politician Kamal Haasan expressed his support to the Indian wrestlers against the president of the wrestling federation Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh who got accused of sexually harassing young athletes. “It has been a month for the protests by the wrestlers. Instead of fighting for national glory, they got forced to fight for their personal safety. Our fellow Indians deserve our attention. Is it our national sporting icons or a politician with a criminal history? #IStandWithMyChampions #WrestlersProtest” tweeted Kamal Haasan.

However, singer Chinmayi Sripaada took to social media to take a dig at Kamal Haasan who stayed silent when she claimed lyricist Vairamuthu was a molester and not even acknowledging the #MeTooIndia movement in 2018. “It has been 5 years since a singer in Tamilnadu got banned for naming a molester. How can anyone trust the politicians who ignore the harassment against women right under their noses? Just asking. I know my timeline will blow up with abuse. I’m gonna exit. Buhbye!,” Replied Chinmayi.
