Deepika Padukone’s humorously heartwarming post as Chennai Express turns 10

Deepika shares a special video on Chennai Express’ 10th birthday

Today, Deepika Padukone’s dearly loved character Meenamma turns 10 along with the movie Chennai Express. Just now, the Pathaan starrer actress shared a lip-sync video of the world-famous dialogue from the movie – “Kaha se khareedi aisi bokwaas dictionary?” Only this time, instead of SRK, Ranveer Singh in his bald look is seen enacting the scene. The comment section without a question is going nuts at the sweet wave of nostalgia hitting them.

In the Instagram caption, Deepika tagged SRK, Ranveer Singh, and Rohit Shetty followed by, “They say that comedy is the most difficult genre for an actor. So when I was offered ‘Chennai Express’, I knew I had a daunting challenge ahead of me. And while it took me a little while to find Meenama, a process that is extremely lonely and often times frightening, I’m grateful that we were able to create a character that is not only synonymous with the movie, but also one that continues to receive an abundance of love till this date…❤️”

Chennai Express is a 2013 film that refuses to turn old and dusty. Even today, SRK and Deepika’s rendition of a couple hasn’t gone unnoticed. Meenamma’s Tamilian Hindi accent and SRK inability to understand her is portrayed in the most humorous way that can exist, all thanks to Rohit Shetty. The comedy scenes from the movie are people’s permanent go-to everyone they’re in a desperate need of a stomach-aching laugh. The Meenamma Squad’s comments are worth reading.

“You as Meenamma is definitely one for the books ❤️”, “We want a separate movie for meenamma!!!”, “i can’t believe it’s been ten years dangggggg i remember going to go watch it with my parents a week before sixth grade started!!!!!! DANGGGGGG”
