Digangana Suryavanshi Sues Show Stopper Producers

Actor Digangana Suryavanshi has initiated legal proceedings against the makers of the web series Show Stopper, following allegations of “extorting money” from the producers. Director-producer Manish Harishankar had accused Suryavanshi of making false promises and taking money from the team, which led her to file a police complaint and send a defamation notice to Harishankar.

Digangana Denies Allegations and Takes Legal Steps

Digangana firmly denied the accusations, describing them as “a cheap publicity stunt.” She stated that the allegations are part of an attempt to cover up the producers’ inability to sell the show despite over two years of effort. Her lawyer, Rajendra Mishra, clarified that Digangana had secured Akshay Kumar as a presenter for Show Stopper under a business deal that Manish could not honor after committing.

Mishra emphasized that all allegations against Digangana are baseless and stem from the producers’ criminal intentions and shortcomings. The lawyer highlighted that Digangana had known Manish for seven years and had invested significant time and effort to help him, even going so far as to get the show re-edited to meet the presenter’s standards.

The Accusations and the Reality

MH Films, the production house behind Show Stopper, had filed a police complaint accusing Digangana of cheating and criminal breach of trust. They claimed she falsely promised to secure Akshay Kumar and his company as presenters. However, Digangana’s legal team asserted that no money was taken from Manish for the presenter deal, and all travels were conducted professionally.

The controversy surrounding the show has not only affected Digangana but also other cast members and crew. Reports indicate financial issues have paused the production, with many actors and support staff awaiting their payments. Despite these challenges, Digangana remains firm in her stance, seeking justice and protection of her reputation.

The series Show Stopper explores the issue of bra fittings and health concerns stemming from wearing the wrong size, starring notable actors like Zeenat Aman, Zarina Wahab, Shweta Tiwari, and Sourabh Raaj Jain. Amid the legal battle, the future of the show remains uncertain, with significant attention on the resolution of these disputes.
