The Oscar nominations are finally here. The teams released the list featuring all the contenders for the prestigious golden trophy. India has a decent stake in this year’s Academy Awards and got 3 nominations including RRR Naatu Naatu song, Shaunak Sen’s documentary feature All That Breathes, and finally, the Netflix documentary The Elephant Whisperers.
However, surprisingly Chhello Show misses out on the Best International Film category nomination. Also, the RRR makers had submitted the film in multiple categories, including Best Picture, Best Director and Best Actor. With this RRR, starring Ram Charan and NTR Jr in the lead, is expected to grab multiple nominations but is selected only under one category. Unfortunately, Ram Charan and Jr NTR missed out to be in Best Hero Category Nominations.
RRR song “Naatu Naatu” has already went on to win India’s first Golden Globe in the Best Original Song category earlier this month. So, we have to wait and see whether the same will happen with Oscars.
