Megastar’s Godfather movie is facing a tough time. It seems the impact of Acharya is still sitting on the back of Megastar Chiranjeevi. His upcoming movie Godfather is said to be facing a challenging time in getting sold. If the trade sources are to be believed, no distributor is ready to take over the burden of Godfather after the results they have witnessed with Acharya. Film after film, Megastar’s craze is seeming to be waning off slowly but surely. It’s never been heard of before for Chiru’s movies to not get a distributor, irrespective of the result of his earlier movies. This is the first time, the star is facing a dire situation like this.
According to the Tollywood circles, there are no takers for the film in many areas of both the Telugu states. As for West Godavari, its rights are bagged by Usha pictures. That too at a very modest price, say the sources. In Nizam, Asian Suneil has taken up the distribution. It’s noteworthy that Godfather is having simultaneous releases in other languages like Hindi, and Malayalam as well. Overall, in many areas, the producers are said to have decided to release the movie on their own. Is this the beginning of the end of a great era? It seems so. Let’s hope that this is a temporary phase and Chiru will be back to his best with upcoming movies.
