Harshvardhan Rane Completes First Year of Psychology Exams

Harshvardhan Rane, known for his roles in films like Sanam Teri Kasam, recently took a significant step in his educational journey by completing his first-year exams in Psychology Honors. Despite a successful acting career, Rane felt a void from not completing his education and decided to pursue a degree in Psychology. “There’s still two more years to go, but I do feel a sense of fulfillment,” Rane shared. His decision to return to academics was driven by a long-standing desire to understand human behavior, an interest that aligns well with his profession as an actor.

Rane, who left home at 17 and has been self-sufficient since, shared his unique approach to studying amidst a busy acting schedule. He managed to find time for his studies by incorporating audio lectures into his daily routine, whether walking to the gym, traveling, or waiting in airport lounges. “I have done the most amount of study in flights. I have started to love traffic also because it gives me time to study,” he revealed.

Balancing his acting commitments with academic pursuits was no easy feat, but the 40-year-old actor made it possible with dedication and innovative time management. Despite the challenges, Rane remained committed to his studies, even completing assignments in unconventional places like government offices when their servers were down.

Rane’s presence at the exam center initially went unnoticed due to his mask, but as word spread, his classmates began to recognize him. “The first five exams went without anyone recognizing me as I had a mask on the whole time. But by the last two exams, the discussion about me being there started spreading,” he shared. Despite the attention, Rane found camaraderie with his peers, engaging in meaningful conversations after exams.

Rane’s passion for psychology stems from his fascination with human behavior. “I am an actor and an actor studies behavior, and psychology is the study of behavior, so it overlaps,” he explained. His decision to return to studying was met with skepticism by some, but Rane has a history of proving doubters wrong. “When I ran from my home, people said I wouldn’t be able to get food for myself, so I did that. Then they said I won’t be able to get a job, I did that too. They said actor to bhul ja, maine wo bhi kara,” he recounted.

Rane’s determination and positive attitude have been key to his success. “I kill them with my smile,” he concluded, showcasing his resilience and commitment to both his acting career and academic goals.
