Jahnavi is named after a film character in Judaai film it is a film produced by Boney Kapoor and starring Sridevi and Anil Kapoor and was released in February 1997, right before the birth of Janhvi Kapoor. Sridevi and Boney Kapoor loved the name of Urmila Matondkar’s character in the film, Janhvi, and named their firstborn the same.
Sridevi always wants Jhanvi to become a doctor. Sridevi was not keen on her daughter’s career taking the same route as hers. However, as Jahnavi is interested in films, she revealed that it was her father, Boney Kapoor, who eased Sridevi into the idea of their daughter joining Bollywood.
Jhanvi is a poet. During an interview with Harper’s Bazaar India, Janhvi’s ‘Dhadak’ co-star Ishaan Khatter revealed that she writes a lot, especially poetry. To this, Janhvi responded that it’s ‘very therapeutic’ to her.
