Here Is the Story Behind Samantha Japamala. Read On

Samantha Ruth Prabhu has finally returned to the media after a prolonged break. The actress popped up for the trailer event today to share special news about her upcoming release, Shaakuntalam. Samantha has been missing in action for a while now because of her ill health.

The first trailer of the film, also starring Dev Mohan, has been released, and the actress looks breathtaking, to say the least. The massively staged film is based on Kalidasa’s internationally acclaimed Sanskrit play “Abhijnana Shakuntalam.”The film will be released in cinemas in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada. What has everyone’s attention today, however, is Japamala in Samantha’s hand.

Samantha was seen with a japa mala, a sacred loop of prayer beads, in her hand on both previous occasions when she was seen at Mumbai airport.

While many are surprised about this, Samantha revealed to some media folks that she’s doing the Japa of 10,008 verses every day for her good health and peace. Though Malayali Christians also do a “rosary” with similar beads, the actress, who got converted to Hinduism years ago, is said to have been doing Hindu japas for the last week, which is why she’s been carrying the Japa mala in her hand all day.
