Director Shankar’s upcoming magnum opus Indian 2 was first announced in the year 2017. Surprisingly, the film’s shoot was delayed multiple times as Kamal Haasan and Shankar were busy with Vishwaroopam 2 and the Rajinikanth-led 2.0, respectively.
Indian 2 eventually went on the floors in January 2019. But again in 2020, Indian 2’s shoot was halted after three assistant directors were killed in a crane accident on the film’s sets. Later, it was further delayed following the COVID-19 lockdown.
Later, with no update from the film team, fans felt unhappy. However after many days, the makers confirmed that Indian 2 will start its shoot from the 25th of this month in a big way in Chennai.
Interestingly, the latest buzz is that this film’s shoot will start without Kamal Haasan. Yes, what you heard is right, the schedule planned in this month will not have Kamal as Siddharth who plays the key role will kick off the shoot in Chennai. Also, as per the trusted sources, Kamal may join the shoot only by September 5th.
Indian 2, is a sequel to the 1996 classic Indian, titled as Bharateeyudu in Telugu. Now the sequel film along with Kamal Hassan has Siddharth, Rakul Preet Singh, Priya Bhavani Shankar, and Guru Somasundaram in crucial roles.
