Interesting Comments On Ponniyin Selvan 5 volumes

The thoughts and the premise of Ponniyin Selvan built by the beautiful actresses are not limited to press conferences and trailer cuts, but we see them translated on the celluloid too.

While critics constantly debate and advocate changing the narrative of women in Indian cinema, little is echoed on the screen. But it’s not the case with PS 1. The film is not just beautiful women adorned in gold jewellery, but beyond that, both Aishwarya Rai and Trisha got meaty roles. Sharing about the same, Trisha expressed her love towards her role and Ponniyin Selvan novel.

She said: “When we started shooting for the film, the entire world was hit by the pandemic which led to a lockdown. So, during that period, I read all 5 volumes of the novel. I used to believe that historic fictional novels are hard to read but this was very interesting.”

Later, sharing about her preparation for the role, “After finishing one book, you will be compelled to pick the next one, it’s that intriguing. But the novel and the film are quite different because the way Mani sir beautifully summarised 5 books into 2 films is beyond my imagination. So, I call this film Mani Ratnam’s ‘PS 1’.”, she added.

The 39-year-old actress rose to fame with many films and now once again proved her charm with this latest magnum opus.
